Benjamin (Chubby Ben) Matthews

Hi, I’m Benjamin Matthews (Chubby Ben). I was born in San Antonio but raised in Phoenix, where life was often tough. During those early years, it was local Mexican families who opened their homes and hearts to me, and in doing so, introduced me to the bold, real flavors of their kitchens, especially hot sauce. That early exposure planted the seed for what would eventually become this craft.

Our signature sauce blends the wild Sonoran chiltepin pepper, smoke from mesquite wood, and honey from native mesquite blossoms, all sourced locally and crafted by hand. The heat is approachable and the flavor is like no other, because it’s rooted in the land it comes from.
